Affordable Ski Touring

Easy Ski Touring is magic moments

Ski touring around Tromsø doesn’t have to mean steep mountains, huge days and racing to the summit. Some of the best experiences can be found on smaller mountains, where there is time to enjoy the snow, the landscape and simply being outside.

Surrounded by fjords, islands and mountains, Tromsø is an incredible place to experience ski touring. Even an easy tour can take you away from the city and into a completely different Arctic landscape, often with views across the sea and towards snow-covered mountains in every direction.

Guiding

For Everyone

By keeping the tours shorter, choosing accessible mountains close to Tromsø and bringing people together in small groups, I want to offer a more affordable way into guided ski touring.

You don’t need to be an expert, and racing summits doesn't have to be the goal.

Sometimes a half day on skis, good snow, a coffee in the mountains and a view across the Arctic fjords is more than enough.

Land

Since tourism and skiing in Tromsø has grown in popularity, we can benefit from it and gather in joined-group tours instead of paying the expensive guide fee for a private setup. This allows more people skiing at a more fair price point for the average visitor of the region.

Easy tours,

big experiences

The focus is not necessarily on how high or how fast we can go. An easy ski touring day might mean 400 vertical metres, a relaxed pace and plenty of time for breaks.

I want you to remember it without being completely exhausted.

What does it take?

Ski touring is a strenous activity, but highly rewarding!

For an easy ski touring trip, no previous ski touring experience is necessary. We take time to learn how the equipment works, how to walk efficiently uphill and how to make turns when the terrain gets steeper.

You should, however, have some previous downhill skiing experience and be able to control your skis on blue and red slopes. Skiing offpiste is what we do, so variable snow conditions from powder to harder snow is to be expected.

What equipment do I need?

Ski touring requires touring skis, climbing skins, ski boots and poles. In addition, helmet and ski goggles is mandatory.

Dressing in layers is important – walking uphill can be surprisingly warm, while breaks and skiing downhill can quickly become cold. Bring a backpack with snacks, water and room for extra clothing layers.

Upon booking we'll provide you a discount code for rentals with our partner Tromsø Outdoor.
