Our trips

At The Natural North, our guided kayaking trips on Senja are designed for guests who want a high-quality, stress-free experience. We keep groups small (max. 6 guests) and adapt every tour to the weather. From the dramatic, roadless Indre Selfjord in the National Park to sheltered pine-forested shores with turquoise coves, islands, and sandy beaches, we choose the best route for the day. Safety

We always select the route that offers the best and safest experience and we never take guests out in conditions that are unsafe. Safety always comes first, so that we can create long-lasting memories together. Your guide is certified and always updated on rescue techniques and wilderness first aid.

Picnic & Beach Clean-up

All of our day trips include a picnic with a hearty hot meal from Real Turmat in Tromsø (different variations available), and a specialty coffee from our local Senja Roasters brewed freshly for you. Tea and hot chocolate as alternatives. During our breaks, we also take the opportunity to collect any marine plastic we may come across. This is part of our Beach Clean-up Program, which runs throughout the summer.

Kayaks and difficulty level

Our kayak fleet consists of a mix of single and double kayaks. Your guide will choose the best option for you. Our double kayaks are extremely stable and therefore very beginner-friendly. Families, friends, couples - everyone is welcome, but we recommend only booking if you are fit for a couple of hours of physical activity.

Family & private trips

If you are a group of four or a family who wants to go kayaking, then please reach out to us and let's make this a private event at no extra cost. This ensures the best possible experience for everyone.

Start/finish point

We meet by Senja Roasters Cafè for a slow start and morning briefing. After this we drive maximum 20 minutes to the paddle location of the day. All guests must arrive by car.

Paddle locations

We offer paddle routes suited for every wind direction. As the only company in the area, we customize each trip to ensure the best possible kayaking experience. All of our tours take you to remote, hard-to-reach places with no other tourists around. You can be sure you’ve chosen a truly unique adventure.

Ånderdalen National Park

Our two routes on Indre Selfjord offer access to the National Park in a way that very few people ever experience. We consider these our flagship tours, although our guests consistently give enthusiastic feedback on all of our routes.
